   The U.S. Census Bureau's latest data indicates a significant rebound in building permits issued in Indiana, following a dip the previous month. In June 2024, 1,921 single-family permits were issued, marking a 16% increase from May 2024's total of 1,661 permits. On Friday, June 7, at approximately 1:28 p.m. deputies and emergency personel responded to the area between Highway 60 and IN 335 where a Toyota Sienna ran off the roadway, striking a telephone pole. There were no injuries.

Deputy Abby Powers was at the scene assisted by members of the Salem Fire Department.

Highway 60 closed shortly after the accident.

  The first opportuntiy for veterans to recieve assistance is coming up this Friday, May 31. The second opportunty is the following day, Saturday, June 1.  Purdue University Northwest is hosting an event for veterans to receive assistance getting the benefits they have earned.
